Columbia Tap Trail

Wayfinding

The Columbia Tap Trail, completed in 2009, follows the historic route of the 1856 Houston Tap and Brazoria Railway. Spanning four miles, it connects Houston’s Third Ward and East End, linking various destinations.

The proposed identity and wayfinding system celebrates the trail’s significance by highlighting the unique characteristics of the neighborhoods it traverses. This cohesive design visually connects the trail’s rich history with its current role as a vibrant recreational space in Houston.
